Beginning with the 25th anniversary tribute to Pope John Paul II in the 2004 Edition of The Official Catholic Directory™ we have been proud to present special tributes and remembrances in each ensuing volume. The 2006 Edition featured a look back at the remarkable first year of the papacy of Pope Benedict XVI, and the installation of two new American cardinals. Last year we recalled through a moving article the Hurricane Katrina disaster. This year we will feature the Papal Visit to the United States and coverage of the bicentennial celebrations in the archdioceses of Boston, New York City, Philadelphia and Louisville.
